We are ready to receive intra-oral scans, direct from your practice, made using the iTero scanning system.

iTero is made by Align Technology, the global medical device company which also makes Invisalign clear aligners.

The iTero Intraoral scanner is an open architecture system that allows for compatibility with multiple laboratory-based CAD/CAM milling systems. It’s used by over 3,000 dental labs globally, including Biterite.

iTero and you in the surgery

iTero lets you to take a 3D digital scan of a patient’s teeth and bite, make adjustments in real time, and transmit the file wirelessly for processing.

You simply scan your patient’s mouth, review the scan in the surgery using iTero’s software, then send the scan to us via the software.

We then mill a model or create an STL Export for model-less restoration fabrication.

The restoration is then fabricated and returned to you for placing.

As well as sending us your digital impressions, you can take advantage of numerous third-party workflows and solutions simply by connecting through your scanner.

This includes external treatment planning, custom implant abutment and our laboratory CAD/CAM system.

iTero and Invisalign

Not surprisingly, given their shared parentage, Align say that iTero intraoral scanning is a natural fit for Invisalign therapy.

iTero has been designed, the company says, to give you the best workflow with the Invisalign system and the exclusive Invisalign Outcome Simulator.

Invisalign cases that start with an iTero scan are reported by Align to have seven times fewer fit issues than those started with traditional impressions.

Choosing your iTero setup

iTero’s current intraoral scanner is the Itero Element.

This is designed to deliver speed, reliability, intuitive operations, and outstanding visualisation capabilities.

The Element is available in either a 132cm high wheeled stand form, for chairside working and easy relocation within the practise, or in a 48cm high counter stand form for more permanent location.

Both versions have a small, 500gram wand scanner, which is wired to the main Element unit with a 1.75m cable. The wand has a 40-50 millisecond scan time, and is capable of capturing 20 scans, or around 6000 frames, per second.
